The NAMM Show

Every year, there are hundreds of music festivals all around the world. Almost every music genre has its own event to commemorate artists, present new bands, or give fans a musical experience. But, what about the people that manufacture devices for the music industry? What about manufacturing instruments, recording devices or artists endorsements? When it comes to the suppliers’ side of the music industry, one of the most important events worldwide is The NAMM Show. Organized by The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM), the show is an annual gathering for domestic and international dealers and/or distributors within the music industry. This singular event takes place every year in January at Anaheim, California, and it is open only to NAMM member retailers and distributors. However, the event is not open to the public, it represents an important space to present new products and negotiate deals in different areas of the industry such as recording technologies or artist endorsement. In this sense, the perfect place is provided for every party to even start or strengthen their businesses through partnerships, endorsements, or brand marketing.

Two additional smaller events/products created by NAMM are the Summer NAMM, and NAMMU. The Summer NAMM takes place in Nashville, TN, Austin, TX and Indianapolis, IN; changing the hosting city every year. In this case, the show is about one quarter of the one in January, and its main difference beside the one of attendance, is the mix of industry meetings and professional development presentations. On the other hand, NAMMU is an online varied library with an educational objective. Different multimedia content can be found on NAMMU from the past NAMM shows, giving members the possibility to access show material and adapt to the rapidly changing nature of the music industry at the present time.

Whether you are a dealer or manufacturer, don’t miss the opportunity that NAMM gives yearly to be on top of the state of the art products for the music industry. If you are a fan, you will probably see your favorite artists enjoying at the NAMM show, so don’t miss the latest updates! For more, stay connected!
